Auto-cancel underfilled classes
Cancel public classes automatically when they still fall below your minimum sign-ups at a cut-off before start.
Before you start

Open booking settings
Go to Studio → Business Settings → Booking. Under Auto-cancel underfilled classes, turn on Cancel underfilled classes automatically. The rule is off by default.

Set the cut-off and minimum
Choose how many hours before start to evaluate the class (for example 6) and the minimum number of confirmed, non-cancelled bookings required. Only public group classes are eligible — private sessions are never auto-cancelled.

Add class-type overrides if needed
Under Class type overrides, leave a type on the studio default or enable custom hours, a different minimum, or skip auto-cancel when that class type needs its own rule.

Keep a class that should still run
When editing a single public class, turn on Still happens if that occurrence should run even if sign-ups stay low. Recurring series are evaluated one occurrence at a time.

What happens at the cut-off
StudioPlan checks classes in the upcoming window. If confirmed bookings are still below the minimum, the class is cancelled through the same path as a manual cancellation: card refunds or credits where applicable, client cancellation emails, push notifications where enabled, and the waitlist closed.

Review studio confirmation
You receive an email and a dashboard task (Auto-cancelled class) with the class name, time, booking count, and rule used. The task deduplicates per class so you are not notified twice.
Tips
- Use Smart Fill to try filling underbooked classes first; auto-cancel is the backstop when the minimum is still not met at your cut-off.
- Changing the rule affects future evaluations only — classes already cancelled stay cancelled.
